Welcome to my blog!
I am Yvonne, a student of Curtin University WA, currently studying towards a Bachelor of Arts in Internet Communications. This blog is part of an Assignment for the Unit WEB101.
My blog revolves around Bikram Yoga and delicious, nutritious, cruelty-free food; two things that I am very passionate about.
I took my first Hatha Yoga Class about 15 years ago. I fell in love with the practice as it immediately had a profound effect on me, not only on a physical level (I’ve had a slipped disk which resulted in a natural spinal fusion of 2 vertebra in my lumbar spine. Yoga asana helped me to manage the pain as well as to keep my mobility) but also on my mental balance. Yoga is not just an exercise regime that I follow through regularly but a life style that keeps me happy, healthy, conscious, compassionate, loving and the best person I can be every day. My practice of Yoga has not only helped me to stop smoking and adjust my diet but also taught me to always listen to my body, that every emotion that might arise will pass and that I have a lot more strength and flexibility in me than I could ever imagine. Throughout the years I immersed myself in many different styles of yoga: Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyassa, Kundalini, for the past 5 years I have been riding a Bikram Yoga wave which is, for me, the most magical series of postures providing me with a deep sense of bliss every time I practice..
I am hoping that my blog will motivate and inspire other human beings who might think that they are too old, too sick, or not flexible enough to give it a try at least. If I can do it, anyone can feel healthy, happy and alive – with a little bit of Yoga and great nutrition.
